Ok so I am beyond lame for not updating this sooner. Things that have happened since last post:

Went to Maui for my Mom’s 50th, had a great time!

Found out we are having another girl! Brynn going to have a little sister! We are very excited!

We have an upcoming camping trip and I vow to be better at taking pictures so i’ll have some to post here.

Nerdtacular 2009

Combine a new Star Trek movie, podcast, hundreds of self described nerds and geeks and what do you get? Nerdtacular. The event put on by Scott Johnson who runs Extra Life Radio, consisted of the movie Star Trek, a get together at a nearby park and an out-of-towner barbeque at the Johnson house. An what an awesome time it was. My brother in law Garrett and I drove up to Salt Lake City, UT for the weekend so we could be a part of the festivities and we had a blast. Looking forward to next year!

Colorado 2008

Colorado and I have a storied history. Starting somewhere around the year 2000 I became cursed. I attempted to travel to my good friend Dusty’s wedding in Denver and was in a car accident that totaled my truck and nearly killed Aaron and myself. Several years later Sarah and I headed out on a road trip to Colorado and I became very sick when we reached the Grand Canyon. Well cursed no longer I finally managed to arrive safe and healthy in the Rocky Mountain state. The trip was originally planned for April of this year to celebrate my Uncle Glenn’s 50th birthday, however, Brynn’s surgery came up so the trip was postponed until this last week.

The flight had a rough landing but we survived here’s Brynn enjoying some tunes with me.

Huntington Lake 2008

So we just got back from camping @ Huntington Lake which was also Brynn’s first camping trip. We had an awesome time! The weather was beautiful with highs in the low 70′s and lows in the low 40′s at night (Sarah was freezing but Brynn and I loved it ) . Brynn had her first boat outing which she didn’t seem to care for but I have a feeling it had more to do with the crazy life jacket than anything else.

Brynn also continued to show her incredible love for water. The lake which is VERY cold (it’s high Sierra snow run-off) didn’t stop her from getting crazy in the water, and even more surprising was our hike to the Indian Pools in which the water is even colder and Brynn jumped right in and was never bugged by it’s frigid temperature, yeah pretty crazy.

Did some fishing and actually caught something this year (Yay!)

Brynn also confirmed she’s my daughter with her love for all that is Pizza. She had 3 slices. No joke.

All in all we had a great time and can hardly wait until our next trip up to Huntington next year. Thanks to Sarah for her hard work packing and making sure I didn’t forget anything and for taking such good care of Brynn as always.

And thanks to my mom for all the wonderful meals and inviting us along!

June Update

Haven’t posted much as of late other than some twitter posts. So what’s going on at the Owen house? We recently returned from a week-long trip to Cancun, Mexico. We had a great time and were blessed to have my parents share the trip with all my siblings (save for Phillip who had to work) I got sick about half way through the week and and am still fighting that cold but feeling ok. Brynn had a GREAT time and has huge love for the beach and ocean. She was very upset at being indoors at any point in the trip! She would charge right into the ocean and squeal with delight, very cute. Sarah got a lovely tan and got worn out by Brynn but she did have a nice relaxing massage at the spa which I hope relaxed her a wee bit before we headed back to the reality which is life this week. I really enjoyed seeing Chichen Itza although I don’t know that I have ever felt being that overwhelmed by heat+humidity before…. Being back home has been good but I have so many things to do around the house and there doesn’t seem to be enough time to get them all done! The Lakers have been making me lose my hair and go gray. Please guys get it together! And that about wraps up this mid-June update!
