Thanksgiving Weekend Fun

Well at long last a long weekend to relax a little and do some fun stuff! On Friday we took Brynn to Troutdale where Brynn caught not 1 but 2 trout! We had a lot of fun as evidenced by this video:

We also got the chance to hang out with some great friends the Mackintosh family and the Somers family at Griffith Park where we all rode the train and the little ones got to ride ponies. All in all a great weekend.

Sarah’s 29th B-Day

Well August has been an incredibly rough month, but there is a highlight as we celebrated Sarah’s 29th birthday. That’s right last year in the 20′s. Scary stuff, if only due to the fact my birthday’s coming up and it’ll be my last year in the 20′s as well.

Nerdtacular 2009

Combine a new Star Trek movie, podcast, hundreds of self described nerds and geeks and what do you get? Nerdtacular. The event put on by Scott Johnson who runs Extra Life Radio, consisted of the movie Star Trek, a get together at a nearby park and an out-of-towner barbeque at the Johnson house. An what an awesome time it was. My brother in law Garrett and I drove up to Salt Lake City, UT for the weekend so we could be a part of the festivities and we had a blast. Looking forward to next year!

Nightwish and Sonata Arctica

Well originally I wanted to do a full blown review of the Sonata Arctica and Nightwish show at the Wiltern but if keep waiting to find time to write one they’ll have already been on tour . That said, the show was awesome! Phillip and I had VIP tickets so we got to meet Nightwish! Very cool although bummer we didn’t get much time to talk or hang out but still cool to be able to meet them. Great news was no opening bands to sit through. Sonata was up first and rocked the house, the only complaint was what was up with the short set? They played maybe 8 or 9 songs which was a bummer. Elias is really looking more comfortable on stage he looked very self-conscience the last tour and he seems to have really gelled with the band which is great.

Next up was Nightwish and they were AMAZING. Really I wish I could see them play more than once a year! If you get the chance to see Nightwish please go!

Brynn and I went to Seaworld with Aaron and Jenn. We saw Shamu and actually went on a couple Elmo rides. We had a great time.
