The Owen Family - Jeremiah Owen, Sarah Owen, Brynn Owen

Hate to jinx it but….

Brynn went to bed pretty easy tonight. I’d like to think it’s because her daddy and her had a nice evening watching Jon and Kate plus 8 while her mother got a last minute invite to go see Bon Jovi at the Staples Center. Hey she deserved to go she’s had a rough couple of [...]

Wednesday Update - Brynn

Well it has now been over a week and Brynn is still not sleeping! Last night was closer to how the weekend went with her up most of the night just wanting to talk and play. The good news is her swelling continues to come down and her eyes become more and more open. Are [...]

The Longest Weekend

So something no one mentioned in the weeks leading up to the surgery was that after the surgery it’s like having a newborn but with the powers of a 15-month old. Yeah since Friday Sarah and I have had like 0 sleep. I take that back we have had a few hours thanks to my [...]

Friday Update - Brynn

Big news of the day! Brynn was able to come home last night! I’ll put up more pictures tonight when I get home.

Swelling is continuing to drop a little each day.
She can now see so that has helped a huge amount!
She slept pretty well last night but woke up about midnight and just sat in [...]

Spoke with Sarah this morning here’s the scoop:Brynn cried all night and seems to be in a fair amount of pain. They are giving her Tylenol. Yeah I was surprised that was all too. They did give her some morphine last night to try and make her more comfortable but most of the comfort will just come [...]

Tomorrow

So tomorrow is the big day. Brynn’s surgery to treat her Unilateral Coronal Craniosynostosis. Very strange to see her running around loving life today and not have any clue what’s coming. Going to be a long week but one I am sure in which our faith will grow and appreciation of all God has given [...]

New Photos

Been a little behind on loading up pictures…. My apologies! Here’s some new ones from the Zoo last week. I sadly was at work but looks like Sarah, Grandpa, Grandma, Aunt Nicole, and Uncle Phillip all had a great time at the zoo! Click here for more pics.

More Surgery Info - Dr. Kreiger

Today we got to meet the neuro surgeon who will be heading up the neuro surgery end of the team for Brynn’s surgery. His name is Dr. Mark Kreiger. I feel much more at ease after meeting with him. FANTASTIC bedside manner (even though we haven’t been into the surgery yet) he just was very straightforward [...]
