Hate to jinx it but….
Brynn went to bed pretty easy tonight. I’d like to think it’s because her daddy and her had a nice evening watching Jon and Kate plus 8 while her mother got a last minute invite to go see Bon Jovi at the Staples Center. Hey she deserved to go she’s had a rough couple of weeks. But heck yes I am going to gloat as I get some rest here at home while the angel sleeps .
Wednesday Update – Brynn
Well it has now been over a week and Brynn is still not sleeping! Last night was closer to how the weekend went with her up most of the night just wanting to talk and play. The good news is her swelling continues to come down and her eyes become more and more open. Are biggest issue now besides the lack of sleep is that she is quite the running daredevil and with strict orders to keep her from hitting her head it’s like telling her not to breathe! The worst part is the more we chase her around telling her not to run the more she thinks it’s a game. We’ll get through it but man oh man not fun!!
The Longest Weekend
So something no one mentioned in the weeks leading up to the surgery was that after the surgery it’s like having a newborn but with the powers of a 15-month old. Yeah since Friday Sarah and I have had like 0 sleep. I take that back we have had a few hours thanks to my mom for coming out and staying with Brynn while Sarah and I tried to get some shut eye. Brynn has only had maybe 6-8 hours of sleep since Friday and there have been some long nights. on Saturday and Sunday morning at about 3 am I ended up just throwing Brynn in the car and driving around Santa Clarita since there was no other way to get her to sleep. yeah desperate times, desperate measures… exhausted but thrilled our Brynn has returned she has new mannerisms including saying “I...
Friday Update – Brynn
Big news of the day! Brynn was able to come home last night! I’ll put up more pictures tonight when I get home. Swelling is continuing to drop a little each day. She can now see so that has helped a huge amount! She slept pretty well last night but woke up about midnight and just sat in bed and talked for about an hour. Not sure what she was saying but I imagine it was something along the lines of “What the heck this has been a long week, but I am glad to be home” Sarah is finally getting some much deserved rest and sleep.
